Bursary Pupil Wins National Young Citizen Award
Not only is bursary pupil Poppy McGhee an exceptionally talented musician, but she is also particularly caring using her talents to help others, particularly blind, partially blind and autistic children through the work of The Amber Trust.
We are therefore delighted to report that Poppy’s efforts have been recognised by the Rotary Young Citizen award, one of only six in the UK and Ireland, given to celebrate the achievements and commitment of young inspiring people.
Poppy’s mum, Mrs Angie McGhee said: “Poppy was very proud to receive her award, but for her the real award is sharing her love of music with so many people. She has been very privileged to be involved so closely with The Amber Trust. It has been a wonderful experience and has brought us much joy.”
